A Very Important Update

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” As we face the difficult challenge of responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19), we, at KCF, look to God for His grace and wisdom in moving forward.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to all who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this coronavirus. We will do our best to seek God, monitor the situation and cooperate with our officials to be a part of the solution and not a problem.

In consideration of the public health concerns related to COVID-19, we will be temporarily closing our Sunday Worship Services at McKinley Community School for Adults, starting Sunday, March 22nd, until further notice.

The good news is you can tune in to a live online stream of our Worship Services via YouTube at the same time on Sundays, 9:00am from the comfort of your home or wherever you find yourself! Church is who we are, not where we gather, so we will continue to worship, receive God’s Word together, and pray together, as we meet in our homes and small groups.

Why did we decide to do this?

A decision based on love, not fear. We love Hawaii and are called to be a positive influence and presence in community. We believe loving others means acting responsibly. We are following the recommendations in order to reduce the transmission of the virus.

God has made it possible for us to stream online and gather together digitally.

How can you stay up to date on any new developments or changes KCF might be making?

As a church family, we are committed to keeping you informed.

Is KCF changing any other events or programs?

We are prayerfully seeking God for all areas of our church.

Our Life Groups will continue meeting, either in person or digitally.

Our Youth and Children Ministries are working to have resources such as Orange Curriculum, RightNow Media, and other online programs available to parents and families.

This is a time for us, as a church, to arise and shine!

In times like this, where the entire world, is being affected in an adverse way, where there is much fear, and very little answers, we must arise and shine as Christ’s church. This is an opportunity, maybe even a responsibility, to BE the church. With God’s strength and presence, we will be a source of hope, comfort and courage to the world around us. Let’s remember God has called us to be strong and courageous, walking in faith and not fear. We can make a difference by:

Prayer. Arise and pray for the protection promised in Ps. 91. Let’s pray that people who are fearful will lift their eyes to the one true source of help, Jesus. Let’s pray for the end of the spread of this virus. Let’s pray for healing for those who are afflicted. Let’s pray comfort for those who have suffered a loss. Let’s pray for opportunities to love those around us.

Loving those around us. Arise and seek God for ways to love those around you. For those in need. For those who need help. For those who are afraid. Let’s remember, “Small things done with great love will change the world!” Let’s arise and be Christ’s church!

Shine. Let the light of Jesus shine through you during this time. Don’t let fear take the lead, but rather respond with faith, being a source of encouragement, peace, and kindness to all.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

Ps. 91:1-4
