Greetings! A pastor and writer, Max Lucado, had this to say about prayer. “Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.” Yes! Our prayers do make a difference. This Friday is Good Friday and we will be joining churches across the country for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting. It is something our denomination has declared. So, I would like to ask if you join in because your prayers do make a difference. Here’s how you can join us:
Make time to pray on Good Friday. You could pray when you get up and when you go to sleep. You could pray during your devotions. You could pray at the times you would normally eat, if you are fasting. My encouragement is to just make time to pray. You will find a summary of the prayer guidelines our denomination set for us on the Missionary Church website or you can download a printable version of the guidelines.
Join us for a Good Friday Prayer Gathering on Zoom. From 6:30-7:15, we will gather together on Zoom to pray. Pastor Sunny and my wife, JoAnn, will be leading our time together. I want to encourage everyone to join in, including children. Check your email for the invitation to the Zoom meeting. Send an email to info@kcfhawaii.org if you need the Zoom meeting information.
Let’s join together to pray! And yes, your prayers do make a difference. Just another encouragement to invite people to join us for our Easter service together at 9:00 am. (HST) at kcfhawaii.org/watch. Call, text, email everyone you know. Post on your social media to invite people. Let’s invite everyone we know. Why? So they can experience the goodness and hope of our Lord Jesus. Mark
